Doublebase Emollient Bath Additive 500ml is a moisturising bath treatment designed to help care for dry, chapped, itchy, red and sore skin. It is suitable for dry skin conditions including eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, ichthyosis and pruritus associated with ageing. The product is suitable for all age groups, including babies, when used according to the product instructions.

The bath additive contains liquid paraffin 65% w/w, an emollient that helps soften, moisturise and protect the skin by trapping moisture and supporting the skin's natural protective barrier. It can also help reduce the drying and irritating effects associated with bathing and ordinary soaps and foaming bath products.

Doublebase Emollient Bath Additive is a dye-free and fragrance-free white to off-white liquid. The 500ml bottle provides a convenient supply for regular bath-time skincare.

How to Use Doublebase Emollient Bath Additive

Adults, children and elderly people: Shake the bottle before use. Add approximately 15–20ml (1½–2 inner capfuls) to a standard bath filled to approximately 20cm (8 inches) depth. Soak for 10–20 minutes, ensuring the affected skin is covered by the bath water. Afterwards, gently pat the skin dry with a soft towel rather than rubbing.

Babies and children: Shake well and add approximately 5–10ml (½–1 inner capful) to a small bath or wash basin. The affected areas can be submerged or gently sponged with the bath water. Soak for 10–20 minutes and pat the skin dry.

For maximum benefit, the product can be added to the bath each time you bathe.

Doublebase Emollient Bath Additive is for external use only. Do not use if you are allergic or sensitive to liquid paraffin or any of the other ingredients.

Take care when bathing: the product can make the bath surface slippery, increasing the risk of slipping when getting in or out of the bath. Particular care should be taken with babies and young children. Clean the bath after use with a suitable detergent to remove any remaining greasy residue.

Fire safety: products containing paraffin can increase the flammability of clothing, bedding, dressings and other fabrics that come into contact with the product. Do not smoke or go near naked flames while using this product and follow the safety instructions supplied with the medicine.
